The Opportunity

Linesight is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Infrastructure team in Ireland. The successful candidate will provide cost estimation and cost management services across major infrastructure commissions and contribute to the continued growth of our infrastructure business across transport, rail, roads, water, utilities, energy and ports. The ideal candidate will have a good background in civil cost estimation and will be self-driven to deliver a high level of service to our clients.

 

In this role you will: 

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and cost plans for infrastructure projects, including the development of first-principles pricing where appropriate
  • Provide commercial support throughout procurement processes, including preparation of tender documentation, tender evaluation, tender negotiations and contract award recommendations
  • Prepare standard documentation deliverables – estimates, tender reports and valuations etc
  • Support infrastructure team with the preparation for and agreement of final accounts, including the handling of any variations/claims to ensure clients get best value from works undertaken
  • Undertake cost analysis and benchmarking activities, providing lessons learned and value-for-money insights to inform future projects and investment decisions
  • Assist the team as required with the commercial management of GCCC & NEC projects
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and internal project teams
  • Be a strong team player with ability to work independently and lead tasks
  • Deliver all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Attend meetings at Linesight or client offices as required
  • Support onsite teams with cost control, cost reporting and forecasting
  • Other duties as may reasonably be required for a Senior Quantity Surveyor.

We would love to hear from you if you: 

  • Have 7+ years’ experience in quantity surveying
  • Have major civils experience is desired, including working for a contractor
  • Have an understanding of construction contracts, preferably NEC and GCCC
  • Have experience of working through CWMF Stages 5 to 7
  • Are results driven, self-motivated and resourceful with excellent client relationship skills
  • Have experience with CostX or equivalent software
  • Have a quantity surveying qualification (essential)
  • Have an interest in obtaining SCSI/RICS accreditation if not already achieved.
