Overview

The Senior Procurement Package Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing procurement activities across multiple data centre construction projects. The role provides direction to Procurement Managers and Package Managers, ensuring procurement strategies, tendering activities, supplier engagement, and commercial objectives are delivered effectively and consistently.

The role combines procurement leadership with hands-on oversight, supporting project teams in managing complex procurement packages while ensuring alignment with programme goals, governance requirements, budget expectations, and delivery schedules. The position acts as a key interface between procurement, commercial, project delivery, and client teams.

The Opportunity

In this role you will: 

Procurement Management & Oversight

 

  • Oversee the delivery of procurement activities across multiple projects and work packages
  • Review procurement plans and schedules to ensure alignment with project and programme milestones.
  • Support Procurement Managers and Package Managers in resolving procurement challenges and delivery issues.
  • Monitor procurement performance and drive timely execution of procurement activities.

Tendering & Commercial Support

 

  • Provide oversight of tendering activities, bid evaluations, recommendation reports, and contract award processes.
  • Review commercial and technical procurement submissions to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Support procurement teams during significant commercial negotiations and supplier engagements.
  • Ensure procurement activities support project budgets and commercial objectives.

Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key contractors, suppliers, and specialist vendors.
  • Monitor supplier performance and support the management of strategic supply chain risks.
  • Review market conditions, contractor capacity, and procurement trends that may impact project delivery.
  • Support sourcing strategies that improve procurement outcomes and supply chain resilience.

 

Reporting, Governance & Risk

 

  • Monitor procurement progress and provide updates to project and programme leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and governance requirements.
  • Review procurement risks and support the implementation of mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in governance reviews, audits, and procurement reporting activities. 

 

Leadership

 

  • Lead, mentor and support Procurement Managers, Package Managers and procurement specialists, ensuring consistent delivery standards.
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance and professional development, including recruitment and onboarding support.
  • Build strong relationships with project directors, commercial teams, design teams, clients and key supply chain partners.
  • Act as a senior procurement contact, aligning procurement strategy and objectives with project delivery requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial judgement, influencing and decision-making skills, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery support.
  • Drive a collaborative, solutions-focused and continuous improvement culture, confidently navigating complex procurement and supply chain challenges.

 

We would love to hear from you if you: 

 

  • Have grown your procurement experience over the last 10 years with increasing levels of leadership 
  • Have experience in a construction environment within the pharmaceutical/medical device sectors or from an EPC background in the oil and gas sector 
  • Have a degree in a procurement or supply chain management related discipline 
  • Have a CIPS certification or are on the path to complete it. We can help 
  • Have strong problem-solving skills and a commercial mindset to build balanced solutions and recommendations 
  • Thrive on building positive relationships with your team and clients through a shared purpose and sense of openness and fun 
  • Are an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
