Overview

As a Lifting Manager at Linesight, you will work directly with the Construction Manager and subcontractors, ensuring all lifting operations are properly planned, coordinated, and executed. You will be accountable for overseeing lifting strategies, crane operations, and rigging plans, ensuring all work is delivered in strict compliance with contract documents. This role focuses on managing lifting logistics and critical lift activities for a complex data centre project within a client-side PMC structure, from design through to commissioning.

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

  • Lead and oversee all lifting operations on site, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution across all project phases.
  • Work closely with the Construction Manager to facilitate problem solving and lifting logistics planning between Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing subcontractors.
  • Coordinate intensively with the contractor’s Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) team to integrate lifting activities into overall field coordination and sequencing.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of contract documents (drawings and specifications) to create detailed lifting plans, crane studies, rigging strategies, and installation methodologies aligned with the project schedule.
  • Lead lifting and logistics coordination meetings, ensuring all lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements are clearly communicated and documented.
  • Produce and maintain detailed lifting plans and methodologies, updating and distributing them regularly in collaboration with the Construction Manager and subcontractors.
  • Interface with the Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) manager to plan and execute lifting operations for client-provided equipment, ensuring safe delivery, positioning, and installation.
  • Ensure all subcontractors adhere to approved lifting plans, method statements, and relevant safety and quality documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with local regulations, site safety standards, and best practices related to lifting operations, including crane usage, rigging, and heavy transport.

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have +10years’ experience as a Lifting Manager, Lifting Supervisor, or Lifting Director on large-scale construction projects.
  • Have proven experience delivering complex lifting operations on 5+ ground-up data centres or other technically intensive facilities.
  • Possess deep expertise in crane operations, rigging plans, heavy lifts, and coordinating subcontractors within hyperscale data centre environments.
  • Can demonstrate experience and provide references from large data centre projects, ideally with hyperscale clients.
  • Have a strong ability to build positive, productive relationships with client teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments and can make safe, strategic decisions quickly under pressure.
  • Hold a degree in engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • Have strong technical knowledge of engineering drawings, lift plans, load calculations, crane charts, and specifications related to lifting operations.
  • Are computer literate, with solid experience using Excel, Word, and other planning or engineering tools.
  • Have excellent English communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
