Overview

As Associate Cost Manager (Lease Portfolio Europe) at Linesight, you will operate within highly experienced, culturally diverse teams focused on delivering strategic cost control across a multi-country lease portfolio. This role places a strong emphasis on commercial performance, cost optimisation, and financial governance across leased assets, rather than traditional single-project delivery.

You will work in a hybrid/remote capacity, collaborating across European stakeholders, supporting programme level cost management, and influencing key financial decisions across a dynamic and evolving portfolio.

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

  • Lead cost management across a European lease portfolio, ensuring effective budget control, forecasting, and cost optimisation across multiple sites
  • Manage and oversee operational and capital expenditure (OPEX/CAPEX) within leased environments, ensuring alignment with client financial objectives
  • Actively participate in tender/bid processes for lease related works, including analysis, benchmarking, and commercial evaluation
  • Drive the change management process, identifying, analysing, and implementing cost impacts across lease agreements and associated works
  • Provide cost planning, benchmarking, and reporting at portfolio level to support strategic decision-making
  • Analyse supplier and contractor proposals to ensure value for money and commercial compliance
  • Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts, including lease exit costs, dilapidations, and associated claims
  • Oversee portfolio spend through regular cost reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis, clearly communicating risks and opportunities
  • Support dispute resolution, including loss and expense, claims, and commercial negotiations within lease agreements
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple regions to ensure consistent commercial governance and reporting standards
  • Mentor and support junior team members where required, contributing to a high-performing commercial function

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have 7–8+ years’ experience in cost management / quantity surveying, ideally within consultancy environments
  • Have experience managing costs across multiple projects or portfolios, preferably within a lease or real estate environment
  • Have strong experience in commercial management, cost planning, and financial control, including change management processes
  • Ideally have exposure to data centre, mission-critical, or large scale infrastructure projects
  • Are chartered
  • Have a degree or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction related discipline
  • Are highly proficient in cost reporting, financial analysis, and stakeholder communication
  • Are comfortable working in a remote/hybrid environment, managing priorities across multiple regions and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to influence decision-making at a senior level
