Overview

As a Senior Project Engineer at Linesight, you will take a leading technical role across complex, large scale projects, working with highly experienced and culturally diverse teams to drive engineering excellence from concept through to operational readiness. You will act as a key technical authority, ensuring that engineering intent, programme, cost, quality, and risk are fully aligned to client expectations.

In this role you will provide strategic oversight, mentor junior engineers, and play a pivotal part in stakeholder management, decision-making, and successful project delivery. We empower our people to take ownership, lead with confidence, and build trusted, long-term relationships with both clients and delivery partners.

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

  • Lead the planning, management, monitoring, and control of all engineering deliverables from project initiation through to commissioning and handover

  • Provide technical leadership across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring design coordination, constructability, and programme alignment

  • Chair and lead key design reviews and technical workshops, proactively resolving complex engineering challenges and mitigating risk

  • Influence and guide design decisions to balance engineering integrity, cost efficiency, sustainability objectives, and programme delivery

  • Oversee and hold the General Contractor accountable for engineering scope planning, sequencing, and site execution

  • Review and validate technical submittals, change controls, RFIs, and value engineering proposals

  • Conduct regular site inspections and leadership walks with DCD, DCE, A/E teams, GC/Trades, and QA/QC, ensuring compliance with design intent, quality standards, and safety expectations

  • Escalate critical issues where necessary and provide strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders

  • Support commercial and risk management activities, including cost reviews, variation assessments, and programme impact analysis

  • Mentor and support Project Engineers and junior team members, fostering professional development and technical capability within the team

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have significant experience in technical project management within large-scale construction or data centre environments

  • Demonstrate strong leadership capability across engineering and delivery teams

  • Have extensive experience in design management, documentation control, and construction coordination

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, or a related discipline (chartered status or working towards chartership desirable)

  • Possess excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels

  • Are commercially aware, with an understanding of risk, programme controls, and cost implications

  • Thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and can confidently prioritise competing demands

  • Build strong, trusted relationships through professionalism, integrity, and clear communication
